Charleston On-Location Dance Photography

We’re Kristen and Tim Shackelford, the husband-and-wife team behind 5iveLeaf Photography, based in Mid-Coast Maine. We specialize in dynamic, on-location dance photography that captures strength, artistry, and individuality — and this spring, we’re bringing our work to Charleston, South Carolina.

For two days only, we’re offering a limited number of professional dance photography sessions for intermediate and advanced dancers in some of Charleston’s most iconic locations. Think Rainbow Row, the Pineapple Fountain, cobblestone streets, and Spanish moss-lined paths — a beautiful, historic backdrop for truly standout images.

These sessions are perfect for dancers who want portfolio-quality photos for auditions, competitions, conventions, senior milestones, or simply to celebrate their growth as a dancer.

The Session – $599

• Up to 60 minutes
• Multiple outdoor locations in historic Charleston
• Up to two outfit or look changes
• All final edited images delivered digitally within 2 weeks

Weather and Rain Policy

Weather is the one thing we can’t control, but we plan carefully to make the most of every session. Light rain, overcast skies, or passing showers do not automatically mean your session will be canceled.

We’ve allowed for one designated rain date (April 23rd) if weather conditions truly prevent us from photographing safely or effectively. In many cases, we’re happy to adjust your session time to work around brief rain showers.

If you’re open to it, light rain can actually create some incredibly fun, dynamic, and unique images — we’re always excited to embrace creative opportunities when conditions allow.

Refunds are considered only in rare circumstances and are at our discretion, after all reasonable alternatives have been explored.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel, a 50% refund is available for cancellations made at least 7 days before the session date. Unfortunately, cancellations within 7 days of the session cannot be refunded.

Studio Sharing and Image Use

If your dancer is affiliated with a studio, we may request permission to share select images with their studio for marketing and promotional use at no additional cost. Studios love having professional, on-location images of their dancers, and this is always optional and clearly communicated.

How do I book?

Use the button at the top of this page, select your preferred date and time, and complete the form. Once you’ve submitted your time slot request, we’ll reach out for additional information, and schedule a consultation to get to know you better as a dancer to ensure you get the most out of your session. Your session is not confirmed until we have a signed contract and session fee.
