I can’t believe that I have neglected to blog this wedding before now. It was total heaven!!
I have known Laine since we were just young girls growing up in Lincolnville Maine. We lost touch over the years but luckily reconnected thanks to the magic that is social media. When I found out she was engaged I was so happy for her and looked forward to meeting this man of hers some day. Laine has always been beautiful, both inside and out. She has always had one of the most kind, loving, and independent spirits of anyone that I have ever known. In a nutshell, if she said “yes” then this guy must be amazing!
Tim and I had the opportunity to first meet Critta when he delivered our firewood a couple of years ago. Yes, that’s right, this groom is our “wood guy.” We both immediately liked him and it was obvious that he was intelligent, kind, and charismatic. Most importantly, when he spoke of Laine there was a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. There was no doubt that this was a man who was deeply in love with his bride to be.
Laine and Critta asked us to photograph their wedding and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to capture their day. They chose to get married on a Sunday morning the week before Christmas (funny story as to how Laine, I mean they, selected their date and time) at the Governor Hill Mansion in Augusta Maine. Mother nature decided to stir things up with a nice ice storm overnight. Luckily Laine and Critta’s guest list was comprised of hardy “Mainers” who weren’t afraid to brave the road conditions. What resulted was a magical day. The perfect couple in a perfect venue surrounded be people who love and support them.
