As a photographer, there are certain images that we make that have special meaning to us. Tonight I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with Lucas and has parents. My job was to capture this family and their love for each other, as I do for many families. What made this session extra special is that my job was also to photograph this beautiful little boy and the two eyes that he was born with…
If you live in midcoast Maine and you spend any time at all online, you may have seen a story or a Go Fund Me page circulating to support a super adorable little guy named Lucas and his family. Lucas was recently diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, which is a big scary word for a specific type of cancer of the eye. Lucas has had multiple trips to Portland and Boston over the last few weeks, and after many tests, and much heartache for his parents, Lucas has been scheduled for surgery this Monday, September 8th, to remove his eye and treat his cancer.
Lucas is an awesome boy. He loves dirt, tractors, four wheelers, and being outside. He has a contagious smile and a survivors spirit. I feel so lucky to have been able to capture a small part of this journey for him and his parents.
If you can, please go to their Go Fund Me page and donate or share.
